IC CHARACTERISTICS:
•CURRENT CANON POINT: Before the final scene of Insidious: Chapter 2. As Insidious: Chapter 3 is a prequel to the first two films, her history covers the entirety of that film as well.
•PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Elise is female, white, and in her 60s. She's very short (5'2") and thin, with pale ash blonde hair and brown eyes. She often wears slacks, tops with long or 3/4 sleeves, and sweaters. Unless she's dressed for bed, she's ALWAYS wearing a scarf.
•DEMEANOR: Elise is typically cheery and friendly to everyone, though she can employ snark. She tries her best to be helpful and supportive to those in need. When things get serious, though, so does she. She's a capable leader and a cool head under pressure, and she's much, much tougher than she looks.
•ABILITIES: Elise has an array of extensive psychic abilities. A short version of the list includes: astral projection, clairsentience, limited precognition, spiritual mediumship, mind reading, exorcism, hypnotism, memory suppression, and defense against possession/mental invasion.
A clearly labeled list of powers with specific explanations can be found here. Of course, I won't use any of her offensive capabilities against other characters without player permission!
•MEDICAL INFORMATION: Medically, she has the same requirements as any average sexagenarian.
•CABIN INFORMATION: Her cabin door is a replica of her front door (dark wood, brass fittings) minus the central window; her cabin is basically certain rooms from her house, but rearranged into one horizontal level. The little front hall, her living room, her kitchen, her bathroom, her bedroom, the little dining area...and the "reading room," where she prefers to do her work. The reading room is locked down with its own key, of which no copies exist. The key she has is the only one there is.
•OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Antisemitism would be a particularly big button for her, having grown up Jewish in the 1940s and 1950s. She doesn't tolerate bigotry in general; she's not one of those racist/sexist/homophobic old people, and will not be pleased if she's mistaken for one. Jokes about abuse, especially of children, will really anger her, too.
